"It started with a single feeling...a feeling of finding "me"...finding who I am...
finding what I am…and this is…my story…"

Akshay Chitrav, a 25-year-old boy, is appearing for his final exam in mechanical engineering, from a reputed institute.s
His parents have noticed a change in his behavior and have consulted their family physician.
They feel as if he is doing this as he wants to avoid appearing for the exams or even may be having some peer problems at college.

His advice of consulting a psychiatrist for further check up has been totally ignored by both Akshay's father and mother.Akshay's violent behavior one night forces them to hospitalize him.
The psychiatrist suspects that he may be suffering from schizophrenia and advices the parents accordingly. From here starts the journey of acceptance, healing, faith, support, understanding, determination and trauma.Akshay starts facing problems at home and otherwise from neighbors and outsiders.

He tries very hard to cope up with his condition and live, but constant ridicule and a sense of being isolated from society, in spite of support from his parents, drives him to the edge.
He has to be admitted to a half way home, where he meets Kaivalya, a person whose will for living has long since left him, but still manages to inspire Akshay through his poems and verses.
His say at the HWH makes him realize that there is so much in life and there are so many people who are in worse condition than himself.

The constant medical supervision by his psychiatrist and his counselor Urmila makes Akshays recovery fast.Once released and on maintenance dose, Akshay joins a group of similar sufferers supervised by Urmila.

This group becomes his therapy against the ‘out cast’ like outlook which is developed against him…or anyone suffering from a mental disorder. In this group he starts to realize that the worst feeling amongst the entire group is that of having no identity…of having no stand and no recognition in society. The group then plans to have a stage show, where they will showcase their skills and will prove that they are able to compete with anyone ‘normal’ in any field.
Urmila takes the lead and encourages them all the way. Akshay starts leading them.

The parents of the patients, also slowly join in, once all their apprehensions and fears are taken care of by proper advice from the counselor and the sheer determination of the entire group.
The group even though well organized, faces an uphill task in finding support and funds from sponsors.

But even this problem seems small in front of self doubt.
This is where the parents, counselors and doctors come in place. Finally overcoming all the odds…the show takes place and ends with a standing ovation. This marks the end of the story…and the start of another… where we can learn from Akshay and his group that determination and faith can move mountains.

Salient features of the story

The story line highlights the journey of a boy, who is on the threshold of a great future, but schizophrenia stands in the way.The story also lets the audience know what exactly schizophrenia is through the conversations between the psychiatrist, counselor and parents.

The various stages and types of schizophrenia are shown through various cases in the half way home and in the group Akshay joins in the latter stage of the film. The parents and counselors behavior in the story, tells the audience how to handle and be with when there unfortunately is an affected member in the family. The film also shows the kind of reaction a patient receives from society and how it affects him.

So even if there is no one directly affected in our family, our small reaction to even a stranger who is suffering can have a major effect on him or her.

The story tries to make every individual aware that the disorder is a case of sheer bad luck and every one has to be tolerant towards the unfortunate one.The story finally deals with the universal fact that whatever the odds, its up to each one of us alone to stand up and face it…and overcome. The story attempts to inspire…and humble…as it did to the writers and makers of the same
